The Artists

My passion for art began at an early age when I first discovered drawing with coloured pencils borrowed from my older sisters. I progressed to oil painting in my adolescence and still love the rich colours and textures this medium provides.

I choose my subjects from common things around me because I believe that there is beauty in ordinary objects if one looks for it. The curve of a pear or a vase, the blush of a ripe peach the intense colours found in a flower petal… Given interesting composition and dramatic lighting, these everyday objects provide the inspiration for my paintings of flowers and still life.

My technical training includes studies at St-Lawrence College (Brockville, ON), and workshops at the Westmount Visual Arts Center. I have participated in the Thousand Islands Annual Garden & Studio Tour (2003) and exhibit regularly with local art associations of which I am a member. My paintings have been selected by a professional jury for inclusion in the Stewart Hall Art Sales & Rental Collections for the past four years.
