The Artists

My name is Dale Cowper (Smithers). I was born in N.D.G., Montreal. My childhood weekends were spent at Sixteen Island Lake in the Laurentians and my favourite pastime was colouring with coloured pencils. Even as a child, I loved to experiment with unusual colours, patterns and designs.

When I married, I moved to Baie d’Urfe where I took art classes from many local artists (Tony Price, Mary Cornell, Ann Robinson) and attended classes at The Visual Arts Center in Westmount. My interests were painting watercolour and oil, china painting and soap stone carving. For many years I taught children craft and art lesson in Ocean Park, Maine where I was fortunate to spend my summer vacations.

Presently,I am semi-retired, live in Beaconsfield and pleased to be a member of the Beaconsfield Artist Association. I am very passionate about painting as it enables me to express myself happily, colourfully and creatively and I look forward to my retirement so I can pick up the paint brush and enjoy, enjoy!
